Only decent day this week, so took it off work to walk up Beinn Sgritheall on Loch Hourn. Fine calm day with excellent views across Skye, Knoydart and the Glen Shiel hills. Jip enjoyed himself! The hill is pretty steep whichever way you approach it. I went up via the Coille Mhialarigh. The western ridge is interesting further up especially in snow where the route finding was fun!

2nd January 2009

Went climbing today with Sean in the Northern Coires of Cairngorm. Climbed Spiral gully (II) and Crotched gully (II) Alt leads, which were both in fantastic condition. My first proper leads! Was in a pretty negative mood due to Sean's bad fall last week, so was Sean, so need to get more "uneventful" climbs in to start the confidence flowing again.
